Background

The National Perinatal Epidemiology and Statistics Unit (NPESU) is a research unit at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) and is located in the AGSM Buildng on the Kensington campus. It is a leading research group in population-based studies related to maternal and neonatal morbidity and mortality, assisted reproductive technology (ART) and studies on marginalised women in pregnancy, including Aboriginal women in custody and mental health. The NPESU aims to provide population evidence in reproductive and perinatal health. The NPESU produces research articles and reports based on all births in Australia, major congenital malformations, pregnancies after assisted conception, maternal morbidity and maternal mortality, and reproductive health.
